Careers lessons are offered to students from Year 10 onwards. In Year 10, students undertake the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) personality inventory to assess the type of work environment that will best suit them. They also undertake skills audits to assess their competencies and put plans in place to develop these over the coming years prior to making applications to Higher Education or the workplace, They learn how to create written CVs and video resumes, and then practice interview skills which are put to practice in mock interviews ahead of their work experience in Term 3.
In Year 11, students use their Unifrog accounts to research subjects and areas of interest for future careers. They undertake an independent research investigation, plotting a pathway to their chosen destination. They learn how to carry out university and apprenticeship searches, filtering courses by entry requirements as well as learning about additional testing and application processes. Students also research subject choices at IB in order to facilitate their progression. By the end of term 2, students are fully familiar with their unifrog accounts ahead of using them for college searches and applications in Years 12/13.
